Ep.5 “Mense de cafe”

There were no mirrors in Andrea’s house, not a single reflective surface. Andrea preferred it this way. She didn’t like mirrors. She didn’t like what she saw in them.

Around midnight as Andrea was deciding whether to go to bed or watch one more episode of “Iron Fist” on Netflix there was a loud knock on her front door.

- O no, - Andrea ia dise a se. - Me espera ce me no regarda “Punio ferin” en volum tro alta e irita mea visinas con la sonas de la colpas de punios.

- Oh no, - said Andrea to herself. - I hope I’m not watching “Iron Fist” too loudly and annoying the neighbors with all the punching sounds.

She got up from her couch and opened the front door. Standing on her doorstep was a young woman with raven black hair and a dress that had a bunch of ravens printed on it. Also she had a black ring embossed with ravens and her shoes had the word “Raven” printed on the front.

- Alo, - la fem ia dise. - Mea nom es Robin. Pardona si me ia velia tu.

- Hey, - said the woman. - My name is Robin. Sorry if I woke you up.

- No, me no ia dormi, - Andrea ia dise. - Me ia regarda “Punio ferin” a Netflix.

- No, I was awake, - said Andrea. - I was just watching “Iron Fist” on Netflix.

- O, - Robin ia dise. - Lo es cualce bon?

- Oh, - said Robin. - Is it any good?

- Aa… No, - Andrea ia dise.

- I’m sorry, - said Andrea, - but you’ve more or less arrived at the very worst house in the world if you need a mirror. I don’t even have a mirror in my bathroom. Heck, I’ve even sanded down my silverware. There are no reflections here.

- Cual? Perce tu ta fa esta? - Robin ia demanda.

- Whenever I look in a mirror, - said Andrea, - instead of seeing my reflection I see a huge flesh colored chrysalis. If I stare at it long enough, it will begin to shake and pulse. Somehow deep down I know that if I stare at it too long, it will burst open letting out whatever’s inside. But I always look away before that happens.

Robin ia sta con sua boca abrida.

Robin stood there mouth agape.

- O mea dio! - el ia dise, - Me ia vide la mesma cosa! Me ia veni per empresta un miror per dedui esce sola mea mirores fa esta.

- Oh my god! - she said. - I’ve been seeing the same thing! I came to borrow a mirror to figure out if it was just my mirrors doing that.

Final Andrea e Robin ia cortea per alga tempo ma esta no ia dura. Tota cual los ia comparti vera ia es sua vide comun de la cocon pos la miror.

Andrea and Robin ended up dating for a while but it didn’t last. All they really had in common was their shared vision of the chrysalis behind the mirror.
