Some short stories, perhaps. I once translated a short work of J.R.R. Tolkien as a start. Translation is a major undertaking if it is to be done well, particularly for beginnners. In order not to leave a bad impression of the IAL itself, a translation should be a good product if you intend it for public consumption.
