It sounds like a great project!  I am too busy to play a major part in
it, but I would be happy to consult.  Although I am not a religious man,
the new testament is a particularly useful translation because of its
appeal, of course, but also because of its simple, down-to-earth
language.  I have read portions of the bible in melanesian pidgin, and
it come across beautifully.  There will, no doubt, be a need for a few
specialized words not yet a part of our dictionaries.
