To James and Alice,

I'm not really sure, but once I was told that "you" originally was the plural and/or polite form. However, the use of "you guys" and "you folks" etc. shows the need for some sort of a "plural you".

LFN suggest "vos". It might be difficult and complicated to a chinese. But I think most Europeans, even Europeans who speak English, easily get used to the distinction tu/vos.
